I-80 Auto Auction and Sales - Auction Information

WHAT IS THE LIGHTING SYSTEM?

The lighting system is I80 Auto Auction's way of helping our buyers find the vehicle that is right for them and for helping our sellers accurately describe their vehicles. The lighting system's colors describe the condition of the vehicle in simple, easy to understand terms. There are two colors that can be used to describe each vehicle - red and green- just like a stop light. By knowing what color a vehicle has been designated, a buyer can quickly assess the seller's declaration of the mechaincal condition of the vehicle. Please read the section below for a more in depth description of each color.

Remember: the lighting system is a tool for our buyers to find the vehicle that is right for them, and should not replace a buyer's inspection of the vehicle prior to auction.

GREEN LIGHT

These vehicles are "Ride & Drive" certified. The seller has not declared, and is not aware, of any known defects and the vehicle is known to be in good operating condition. These vehicles are sold "AS IS", but are subject to a 24 hour cpurtesy arbitration.

Sellers may declare their vehicle "Ride and Drive" if the vehicle conforms to the following:

- Does not contain any major defects (in excess of $500, excluding tax) on the engine, transmission, power train, rear wheel and front wheel drive components, and AWD and 4x4 drive components - excluding wheel and axle bearings.
- Must not be labeled accident repaired, reconstructed, flood or fire damaged, stolen and recovered, or any vehicle that has been written off by an insurance company for any reason whatsoever.
-The vehicle has no seller declarations or announcements.

RED LIGHT

The vehicle is sold 'AS IS'. The sale of any vehicle sold 'AS IS' under the "Red Light" is considered final. Vehicles sold 'AS IS' are not subject to arbitration for any reason.

It is important to note that vehicles sold under the Red Light do not necessarily have a mechanical or title issue. They may be Unreserved (all vehicles that are sold absolutely to the highest bidder are sold AS IS) or the seller may not know of any mechanical defects - but does not want to attest to such. Vehicles sold under the Red Light typically end up being the best deals.

ARBITRATION

Arbitration is a fair and amicable method of settling disputes between a buyer and seller. It is the seller's responsibility to utilize the lighting system detailed above to accurately describe his/her vehicle. Any vehicle sold as Yellow or Green light is subject to arbitration if the buyer feels the seller has misrepresented his/her vehicle. The seller has designated this vehicle eligible for the "Platinum Package."

The seller does not have a minimum price - or reserve - on this vehicle. The vehicle will be sold to the highest bidder, regardless of price.

News and Notices

** Please note new payment policies ** I-80 Auto Auction will hold it's next auction on April 10th, 2007. We will have US Marshal-seized vehicles, dealer trade-ins, lease terminations, privately owned vehicles, abondoned vehicles, and charitable donations. New vehicles will be added to the online auction list daily, so check back often. All vehicles will be available for inspection on Tuesday, April 10th from 11am until the start of the auction. This auction is open to general public.
